Discovery Recovery will read NTFS and FAT 32, 16 and 12 file systems (commonly used on cameras). DR can forensically scan for additional files by analysing file signatures and also uses intelligent pattern recognition to locate even more potentially recoverable files. Advanced scanning technology excludes mapped data as it progresses and forensically scans only those areas populated with unallocated data. This enables Discovery Recovery to cope with the largest of the new high capacity drives with unrivalled efficiency.

When first downloaded and used, Discovery Recovery runs in safe mode as a 'stand-alone' portable application requiring no installation, and will run recovery operations by simply clicking the executable file. It can also be copied and run from anywhere including memory sticks.
